Upper Cervical Care
Dr. Park is the first Korean American chiropractor who specializes in Palmer Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic. Dr. Park believes this is the most important technique in chiropractic. If the upper cervical region suffers from subluxation, other regions suffer subluxation as well. The upper cervical region is like a first button on a shirt, it has to be properly adjusted before any further adjustments can be made.
TMJ stands for Temporomandibular Joint, and it is a small connecting point where your jaw meets your skull. Despite its small size, its vertical and horizontal movement allows you to talk, chew, and yawn. The TMJ is an important location because nerves from the brain pass, and muscles near the TMJ are related to the upper cervical region. When the TMJ is suffering from subluxation, it causes pain and discomfort that prohibits normal activities such as eating, talking, chewing, etc. Dr. Park examines each patient’s TMJ as well and offers a proper TMJ adjustment.
The aftereffect symptoms of a car accident normally show around 1~2 days or even months after the accident. In fact, absence of pain doesn’t necessarily mean there is no damage. Many of the symptoms caused by a car accident or trauma lay dormant until later. If nerves are put under pressure after the accident, it will not only result in pain, but it will lead to a more severe illness.
Car accidents can cause damage in many parts of the body such as 7 possible locations in the upper cervical vertebrae alone and 32 joints and muscles. This may prevent you from leading a normal life and instead one with pains like dizziness, nausea, vomiting, muscular rigidity, tinnitus (a ringing sound in ears), etc.
